Master’s degree could benefit professionals who are looking for career advancement

Professionals who hold a master's degree in technology management tend to make a high salary. According to Payscale.com, those who are in positions such as a chief information officer or project manager can earn more than $100,000 per year. Individuals may want to pursue higher education in this field, as it could also lead them toward advanced career opportunities.

The University of New Hampshire (UNH) is one institution that recently announced it will soon launch a master's degree in technology management, Seacoast Media Group reports.

This program is aimed toward professionals who already have a technical background, but would like to enhance their training and manage technology-based projects. Christine Shea, associate dean of graduate programs at UNH, told the news provider that individuals who enroll in this program will "learn, discuss, analyze and develop skills and tools that can be used from day one to improve their ability to lead successful projects."

Students will cover a variety of topics, including technological innovation, strategic, project or intellectual property management and leadership within teams.

Similar master's degrees may appeal to professionals who are looking for a more prominent position. The BLS reports that project managers could advance to a chief technology officer with the necessary skills or training. These individuals have the potential to earn more than $200,000 per year.
